Drowning, Not Waving.

I know there’s a beautiful river in this valley
A place for my soul to rest
clean air for my lungs and a pillow for my head.

I know there’s a sunrise after the night goes to bed
A new day rising;
Another chance to take a breath.

I know after the storm subsides
I’ll breathe again
but I am drowning,

Not waving.
